Academy Update

The Thanda Royal Zulu U17 Junior outfit kicked started an intense training session with head coaches Ngcebo Zulu and Scelo Qwabe. Hailing from all parts of Zululand the juniors have showed pure commitment when wearing their Amabhubesi colors.

What was mastered in training was put to the test when the junior outfit took on their tuff opponents from eShowe, this was hard match as eShowe didn’t give the outfit an easy task. An opener came from Thanda just minutes into the first half. The U17 then finished their scoring brace in the second half when they netted the second goal of the match. Amabhubesi merged victories with a 2-0 victory over the eShowe U17 outfit.

The juniors then took on an open side from Mzingazi, it was not an easy match. Amabhubesi drew level with the in a high scoring match. The final score was 3-3.

The Academy then took on Mtuba Academy, Amabhubesi were first to open the scoring but messed things up in the second half and Mtuba netted one back to level matters. The match ended 1-1. Durban Tournament

The Academies U17 side will be taking part in a 10 day tournament in Durban where they will be match with sides from Russia and all parts of South Africa. The side is currently preparing hard for this challenge as they want to bring back impressive results from the tournament.

The side will depart for Durban 29 September and return back to Richards Bay 9 October.
