AmaBhubesi Move To The Second Position

		Results: Thanda (1) 2 Sivutsa (1) 1 Peter Wadabwa came off the bench to steer Thanda Royal Zulu FC to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sivutsa Stars in an NFD League clash played at Mhlathuze Stadium on Saturday. The win lifts TRZFC to second place on the log and the team is currently tied on 27 points with log leaders University of Pretoria and third-placed Blackburn Rovers.

Despite the unpredictable weather, fans turned up in numbers to witness one of the most impressive displays by Neil Tovey’s men. The home team started the game brightly, with midfield maestro Sthembiso ‘Last Number’ Dlamini pulling strings in the middle of the park. The former AmaZulu man had the opposition in all sorts of problems, combing well with fellow midfielders Mbuso Manyoni and Gerald(Six) Xowana.

Thanda and SA U/23 international goalie Nhlanhla ‘Cassilas’ Khuzwayo courageously came off his line to thwart Bongani Masinga’s attempt but injured himself in the process in the eighth minute. On the other hand, TRZFC fashioned a scoring chance, striker Mpho Sitayitayi easily slotting past Sivutsa keeper Sphamandla Ntombela in the sixteenth minute.

huzwayo showed his class by producing a double save as the visitors staged a mini onslaught. Against the run of play, Sivutsa found an equaliser through a well taken free kick by Joseph Sikume. Tovey must have given his players a tounge-lashing at the half time break as they came back a more determined side. However, despite carving out openings in Sivutsa’s defence, finishing let them down.

The home side’s never-say-die attitude finally paid off when Wadabwa struck home with 10 minutes left. The Malawian international headed home a rebound after Nkosinathi Mthiyane’s attempt was blocked.
