Liaison and Communication Manager's Column

14 March 2012

Warm greetings to the Amabhubesi family, after a mini break that was enforced by the Fifa weekend and the Nedbank Cup programme.

I am pleased to inform you that we used the break positively. We paid visits to two Nongoma schools, Umthombowesizwe High School and Umshanelowesizwe High school. The aim of these visits was to plough back into the local community.

Dining with the king

The visist coincided with our date with the Zulu King, His Majesty King Zwelithini Goodwill kaBhekuzulu who had invited us for an encouraging talk. Many will remember that the club owes our part of our formation to the King, who allowed us to use the word royal in our name, as that name belongs to royal family. We enjoy a good work relationship with His Majesty.

The King offered us advice and summed up the importance of representing the Zululand region well. He stressed that promotion is non-negotiable. The players and technical team were thrilled to have dined with the King.

Working with local municipalities and business sectors

Let me encourage the municipalities and districts around us to come forward if they want to work with TRZFC. TRZFC belongs to them. If there are any local businesses who would like to place adverts in our magazine please contact me on: thabani@trzfc.co.za or admin@trzfc.co.za

It is my wish to see all municipalities and districts that surround us adopting a Sports Friday where everyone will wear a Thanda Royal Zulu FC jersey. We are still on course to register new members (supporters) and we will soon open branches in Nseleni and Esikhawini.

Supporters can look forward to getting the latest news about TRZFC on Zululand 97,0 FM every Sunday from 6 to 7pm.

We welcome our new players who joined during the transfer window. Let us give them support and encouragement as their input will be vital in our quest to gain promotion. Let’s keep supporting Amabhubesi.

Mabhubesi nginithanda nonke Until next time
